The Philadelphia Film Festival, redubbed CineFest, is in full swing. Since my husband, The Gryphon, and I were away last weekend, we missed the first weekend. Usually, we don't catch any movies during the week, but I wanted to get a couple extras in, so I looked for ones that would fit my schedule. Yesterday, I saw Jury Duty (Le Septième juré), which was playing at The Prince at 4:45 p.m. I took the El downtown instead of driving, so I avoided the rush hour traffic. Since I got there early, I drank a coffee and worked on a poem in the lobby until it was time to get in line.

I am participating in National Poetry Writing Month, where the goal is to write one poem a day for 30 days. During the month of April, I will be using the writing prompts at ReadWritePoem.org and posting the results.
Day two prompt
Its day two of NaPoWriMo, and were feeling fresh, invigorated, ready for anything, right? Heres todays challenge: find five verbs and five nouns from one subject area, and use them to write about another subject. My son had this assignment in his college poetry class, and he culled his words from biology and then wrote about technology. The idea is to create an extended metaphor in a short poem, of maybe ten to twelve lines.
