Camera-Phone Diet - Monday, August 10

Until I reach my goal of losing 15 pounds (which will put me where I was on my wedding day), I'm doing something called the "Camera-Phone Diet," where you photograph everything you eat. Monday, The Gryphon and I ate breakfast at the Marathon Grill in Center City. For dinner, I had leftovers from the diner, where we ate Sunday.

Here's what I ate:

Monday, August 10 - Morning Coffee  Monday, August 10 - Pancakes  Monday, August 10 - Fruit  Monday, August 10 - Dinner  Monday, August 10 - Coffee  Monday, August 10 - Snack

Oscars

Rising Son

I have been watching all the movies that won the Oscar for Best Picture. The next on my list was the 1974 winner, The Godfather Part II, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, and Robert De Niro. I first watched this movie about a decade ago.

The Godfather Part II picks up where the original film leaves off, following the Corleone crime family and focusing on Michael as he takes over. While this installment is not as well known or widely quoted, it's as good or better in many ways.

Camera-Phone Diet - Tuesday, August 11

Until I reach my goal of losing 15 pounds (which will put me where I was on my wedding day), I'm doing something called the "Camera-Phone Diet," where you photograph everything you eat. Tuesday, I made a dinner recommended in a light cook book: mustard chicken with light garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed squash and peppers.

Here's what I ate:

Tuesday, August 11 - Breakfast  Tuesday, August 11 - Lunch  Tuesday, August 11 - Dinner  Tuesday, August 11 - Coffee  Tuesday, August 11 - Snack

Appeal for a Friend

I am in the process of catching up on my F-list, and I just learned that a friend from Penn State, Shawn Pearce, was in a serious car accident. Fellow Penn Staters may remember him from the Blue Band or from hanging out with various members of the Penn State Monty Python Society and the WPSU crew.

Fellow Penn Stater friscokitty has been providing frequent updates on his situation, and she also shared information on a fund created to help him out. You can read about the fund in this entry. While they have purchased the laptop, they are still collecting funds to help him and his wife in this difficult time.
