NaNoWriMo Ahoy!

Despite the fact that I can't find my voice recorder and fear that I lost it, I'm going to participate in National Novel Writing Month again! Last year, I got about 25,000 words written, in part because I started slow. If you're participating, please visit my NaNoWriMo author page and friend me.

This year, I'm working on a series of short stories, written to appeal to young readers of about 5 to 8. I was inspired by reading some Winnie the Pooh stories to my little Kung Fu Panda and thinking about how it would be fun to write something that could also appeal to the rapidly growing population of Geek Parents.

The working title is "Felix and the Dreamworld Bandits." It's a series of short stories featuring a boy, Felix, his best friends Drusus the Dinosaur and Hobart the Robot, who explore the Dreamworld every night when Felix sleeps. When they discover portions of the Dreamworld missing, they try to discover what's going on.

The goal is to write about a 2,000-word story each day, which would keep me on track. Wish me luck!
