Well, kiddos, it's official. I've got a kidney stone. My doctor calls it a "nonobstructive kidney stone," which means it's not blocking anything or causing trouble (except for the pain). Normally, forcing fluids (drinking a lot of extra water) is supposed to help one to pass it. But I've got an appointment set up for Oct. 15 with a urologist, just in case that doesn't do it. Then, apparently the options are either to vibrate it apart or to do surgery.
Until then, I'll be drinking until my eyeballs float!
