Ah yes ,Boffer LARP. Never really understood hitting people with foam weapons or throwing nerf darts to simulate magic missle.

I think that's what the TIME photographer thought they would do at the Otakon LARP when he asked me about doing a photo feature on them. I had to tell them that, after speaking to the department co-heads, it really wasn't a very visual event. :)

Yeah, the Otakon LARP is more a Role playing and less beating due to our 'no hitting' policy at con.

Actually, the White Wolf LARP I played in grad school at Penn State was the same way. I've never played the "nerf bat" version. Have you?

Nope, I also played alot of Vampire WoD as well at my time at PennState. I once sat and talked about religion and philosophy for 4 hours in character.

That was the best part about that game. It was all about the role-playing.

Well, every time I tried to become a power gamer and involve in the main plot my character was always killed by another player. So I gave up and just sat and talked all evening.
