I based today's poem on the prompt from NaPoWriMo.net, which was to write a poem of things you would like to say to a friend, relative, or other person.
KFP practices his ringbearer duties.
Advice for My Son
Always look both ways.
Ask before petting stray dogs.
Eat your vegetables.
Wash your hands.
Sneeze into your sleeve.
Be cautious around strangers.
Trust your instincts.
Love what you see in the mirror.
Look for beauty, and you'll find it.
Don't take things personally.
Smile, darn you, smile.
When you speak to people, look at them.
If you feel like jumping, or skipping, or clapping, do it.
Hold, and hug and kiss the ones you love.
Sing if your heart demands it.
Follow your bliss.
Be strong but not unyielding.
Listen to your heart.

It will include poetry, essays and humor pieces about pregnancy, parenting and my creative, determined toddler, nicknamed Kung Fu Panda. Proceeds will go towards defraying the travel expenses for our upcoming trip to Illinois, where KFP will be a ringbearer in the wedding of a couple we regard as family. Help us make this the best trip of KFP's young life!
