Last night's results were not a big surprise. Did you agree with the judges?

Well, I'm sure you can guess whether or not I agree with Howard about Taylor Williamson (omg I have to listen to him AGAIN????????) I think next time he's on I might mute him on the original broadcast as well as on the recap.

But hey, four of my six picks made it through, so it's not all bad :)

I partly agree with Howie about Forte - they're definitely one of the front runners, but there are other contenders:the Kristef Brothers if they're able to perform next week, Collins Key seems really popular, that American Forces wives choir for all the wrong reasons, Timber Brown, Kenichi.

And I definitely agree with the judges putting Catapult through over Dave Fenley; I may not be particularly enthused about Catapult, but Fenley's technique of landing just short of the note then pushing up to it hurts my ears! Also I have to agree with Howard that his thing about Mel B was getting old.

I think next week is going to be a much more difficult week for me to pick who I want to vote for - there are a bunch of my favourite acts competing, and it looks like it's going to be a much more exciting show than this week.

ETA: I've been wondering what all the hype about One Direction is... and after seeing them I'm still wondering; it was a very sloppy performance of a run-of-the-mill song. The Backstreet Boys were a lot better when they were on (though in all fairness they have been in the business a lot longer).

I don't get the hype about One Direction either, but then again, I never have been excited about boy bands. Agreed about the Backstreet Boys' performance: they were much tighter and more in command of the stage.

When he auditioned, I liked Dave Fenley, but he has been averse to growth.

Timber Brown could very well take the whole competition: a gymnast has never won, and he's mesmerizing.
