Doing Laps

Saturday morning at Otakon, I was feeling refreshed, having had some precious sleep. I'm glad, though, that I spent some time the previous evening putting together a list of things to do and finalizing the schedule for Saturday, because unanticipated problems would interfere.

Act III

Sunday morning at Otakon was the only day that I was running on something of a sleep deficit, which made some parts of the day seem a little surreal.

After eating breakfast, I ran into the head of Press Relations, The Pottermaniac, along with The News Producer, as we were all leaving the hotel where the Staff Suite is located.

I told her I would come to work after I stopped at the Otakon merchandise table in order to pick up this year's baby doll shirt and see if there was anything else I wanted. She gave me some money and told me to get her this year's T-shirt.

Act II/Intermission

First of all, I want to mention that my poetry reading went extremely well last night. Several people came up to me afterwards and told me how much they liked it. My only regret is that I forgot to nudge them to sign up for my mailing list. But this is the first time I've done this in a long time, so I guess that's excusable.

I will share more details sometime next week, after I'm done catching up with my Otakon write-ups.

On Saturday, we had an addition to the Press Relations staff. So we had our boss, The Pottermaniac; The News Producer and his cousin, Quack; me; The Rock Chick, and were joined by a staffer I'll call The Golfer, because he just graduated from Penn State with a degree in Golf Course Management and currently works for a golf course. He was all tanned, his hair bleached blonde, as a result. Incidentally, he'd worked under me as a gopher several years ago when I was a registration lieutenant.

Act I

It's going to be fun typing this today, because I cut my left pinky pretty badly last night, rushing to make dinner. Never handle sharp knives when you're still recovering from Otakon!

On Friday, The Gryphon and I got up with enough time to grab some breakfast in the staff suite. I always enjoy chilling out in there and swapping stories with people from other departments, before we all rush off in separate directions.
